Trip description

Perhaps you’ve always wanted to spend a night somewhere in the middle of nowhere and enjoy the eerie silence, well now is the time to live it up, with Plan The Unplanned at Maala Homestay.
The Western Ghats fascinate one and all, with its impenetrable forests, stunning bio-diversity, and awesome waterfalls. On the foothills of this nature’s wonder, ensconced in the Kudremukh range of the hills is a quaint, idyllic village called Maala, just 16 km from Karkala Town in Udupi District, and yet miles and miles away from any trace of urban life. Amidst its ever-green environs and intense silence, the rural agricultural life is an incomprehensible experience.
Maala Homestay is a 200-year-old house restored artistically. Built using locally available materials with cosy rooms and spacious living rooms, it allows you to experience the nature in its fullest glory. With rustling trees, chirping birds, gushing streams and perpetual breeze carrying the fragrance of wildflowers, you cannot be closer than this to nature. And, there is more. Maala Homestay is a home as much as it is a museum – an impressive range of modern, classical, and folk arts and artefacts adorn its walls and shelves. Maala Homestay offers you an opportunity to enjoy the nature and the world of art at the same time.
