Trip description

Kerala, located on India’s tropical Malabar Coast, with its serene beaches, tranquil stretches of backwaters, lush hill stations, exotic wildlife and sprawling tea, spice and coffee plantations is one of the most beautiful destinations in India.
We plan to explore these gorgeous lands in August, when it will be in festive mood and nature will be at its best. After rains it is abundant with lush greenery and gushing waterfalls, weather will be pleasant and loud tourist crowd will not be there. And this year it will be extra special. Neelakurinji, that blooms once every 12 years is blooming this year and will turn the hills of Munnar blue.
The Trail: Alleppey (2N) – Thekkady (1N) – Munnar (2N) – Kumarakom (1N)
DETAILED ITINERARY:
DAY 1, 24th Aug | KOCHI TO ALLEPPEY (53 kms/ 3hrs)
Arrive at Kochi airport by 11AM. Drive to Alleppey. Dotting the coastline of the Arabian Sea, Alleppey is the oldest planned bacakwter town of Kerala. This place is famous for its numerous rivers crisscrossing the Sea and is home to many canals, backwaters, beaches and lagoons. Alleppey is often referred to as the Venice of India. Spend a beautiful evening at the Marari beach which is walking distance from our stay. Overnight stay at Maraikulam, Alleppey.
DAY 2, 25th Aug | ALLEPPEY
Spend the day celebrating Onam. Wear traditional clothes and join the locals to celebrate the festival in the temple in traditional style with drum beats and elephant parade. Enjoy Onam special feast "Sadhya" and celebrate the festival with locals. Overnight stay at Maraikulam, Alleppey.
DAY 3, 26th Aug | ALLEPPEY TO THEKKADY (138kms/ 4hrs)
Drive to Thekkady. Go for Boat Safari at Periyar Reserve Forest. Overnight stay at Thekkady.
DAY 4, 27th Aug | THEKKADY TO MUNNAR (91kms/ 3hrs)
Post breakfast leave for picturesque Munnar. Witness Kathakali performance and traditional Kerala martial arts Kalaripayattu at Munnar in the evening. Overnight stay at Munnar.
DAY 5, 28th Aug | MUNNAR
Explore beautiful hill station Munnar. It is nestled in Western Ghats at an altitude of 6000 ft and is located in Idukki district of Kerala. Large tea plantations, forests, hill ranges, valleys and wildlife makes anyone fall in love with this place. And this year it will be extra special. Neelakurinji, that blooms once every 12 years is blooming this year and will turn the hills of Munnar blue. Overnight stay at Munnar .
DAY 6, 29th Aug | MUNNAR TO KUMARAKOM (153kms/ 5hrs)
Proceed to Kumarakom. Go for backwater cruise. Overnight stay at Kumarakom.
DAY 7, 30th Aug | KUMARAKOM TO COCHIN AIRPORT (48kms/ 1.5hr)
Drop to the airport by 2PM.

If the participant does not attend/complete the trip or consume benefits included in the price, he/she will have no right to claim a refund.
