The undisturbed land of Kinnaur – Lahaul & Spiti is blessed with some of the most spectacular and beautiful landscapes – high altitude snow-clad mountain ranges, narrow valleys, pristine rivers, enchanting natural lakes and beautiful monasteries steeped in time.
This land in between India and Tibet often known as Little Tibet is an high altitude cold desert with stunning beauty an accessible only 4-5 months in a year.

DAY 00: New Delhi – Shimla (350 Kms / 10 Hrs)
The lifetime trip to Kinnaur – Lahaul & Spiti begins as we leave New Delhi by 10PM taking an overnight journey to Shimla.
DAY 01: Shimla
Reach Shimla early in the morning. Check into a hotel / homestay for an overnight stay. Spending a night in Shimla helps as the body gets acclimatized to the mountainous terrain. You have the option to explore Shimla on your own. (-/-/-)
DAY 02: Shimla – Sangla – Chitkul (250 Kms / 8 Hrs)
We start early from Shimla and drive through the breathtaking gorges of the Greater Himalayas to reach Sangla. Sangla with the Baspa River flowing alongside is a tiny picturesque village that is sure to take your breath away. After lunch, we head to Chitkul, the last inhabited Indian village on the old Indo-Tibetan trade route. We stay overnight at either Chitkul or Sangla. (B/L/D)
DAY 03: Chitkul – Kalpa – Nako (180 km / 6 Hours)
Explore the town of Sangla. Then, we head towards the apple-orchard dotted small town of Kalpa and continue to take the roads which are commonly known as one of the “Most Treacherous Roads of the World” to reach Nako, a pretty high altitude village with absorbing views of the mountains. Overnight at Nako. (B/L/D)
DAY 04: Nako – Geyu – Tabo – Mane (100 km / 3-4 Hours)
This morning, we make a quick visit to Nako Temple and Nako Lake. Also take a detour to Geyu village to witness the 500 year old mummy. Head to 1000-year-old Tabo Monastery referred to as the “Ajantha of the Himalayas” and then to the village of Mane. (B/L/D)
DAY 05: Mane – Dhankar – Pin Valley (70 km / 3 Hours)
Take a long stroll in the morning in the village of Mane. We then head to the 1200 year old Dhankar monastery. If time permits, we do the easy 45 minute trek to the stunning turquoise colored Dhankar Lake. Continue the drive to pretty Mud village located on the banks of Pin-Parvati River, a natural habitat for Snow Leopard & Himalayan Ibex. Overnight stay at Mud. (B/L/D)
DAY 06: Pin Valley – Lalung – Demul – Kaza (110 km / 4-5 Hours)
Today we head to Kungri Monastery and then to the charming and high villages of Lalung and Demul. If time permits take a short, traditional Yak safari or learn how to make steaming hot momos with the locals. We return to Kaza for our overnight stay. (B/L/D)
DAY 07: Kaza – Hikkim – Komic – Langza – Kaza (90 km / 3-4 Hours)
After Breakfast, we drive to the highest inhabited village in Asia – Komik. On our way send a postcard from the highest post office in the world at Hikkim and ascend 14,800 feet above sea-level to the highest inhabited village in all of Asia. Take a stroll up to the Tanggyud Monastery, the highest monastery in the world with a motor able road. We then descend to Langza village considered to be a one of the most fossiliferous regions of the world; takes us back to the pre-historic era when Spiti was submerged in the Tethy’s Sea some 200 million years before. Get mesmerized by the views of Chau Chau Kang Nelda Peak from Langza. Overnight at Langza or Kaza. (B/-/D)
DAY 08: Kaza – Ki – Kibber – Kunzum Pass – Chandrataal (100 km / 4 Hours)
We head to the picturesque Kibber village. En route to Kibber, visit the 1000 year old Ki (Key) Monastery, the largest monastery in the Spiti valley. From Ki, a scenic drive takes us to Kibber. Around eighty families live in magnificent whitewashed mud-homes making Kibber one of the highest continuously inhabited villages in the world. We then drive to one of the most photogenic places of the Spiti Valley, Chandratal Lake. Gaze at the sky for millions of stars on a clear night. Overnight at Chandratal or Batal. (B/L/D)
DAY 09: Chandratal Lake – Rohtang Pass – Manali (140 km / 7-8 Hours)
We head to Manali this morning after an early breakfast. We drive through the famous Rohtang Pass and return to Manali ending our breathtaking Spiti sojourn. Stay overnight at Manali. (B/L/-)
DAY 10: Manali – Delhi
We have the option to explore Manali today. We take an overnight Volvo bus to New Delhi. We bid good-bye and depart with lifetime memories. Tour ends. (B/-/-)
The itinerary is loosely drafted, and allows you to do as little or as much as you like.
This itinerary is just to give you an idea on the tour structure but in no means final and is subject to change.

The participants are requested to reach NEW DELHI by 8PM on the start date so that we all can leave to SHIMLA by 10AM. Place of reporting will be informed in due course.
